It’s my Daddy’s Birthday! (And he can cry if he wants to!)

I think the title of this post says it all. It’s my Pa’s birfday. And he’s a crybaby. JOKING! Kinda. Hey, I made up a song for him:

“Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy BIRTHDAYYYY dear *insert name here* Happy Birthday to you!”

(On an unrelated note, copy & paste is wonderful.)

When I was little, my Dad would read me “Yertle the Turtle” every night. When I say every night, that is exactly what I mean. I think it was favorite for two reasons. The first being the whole book was about turtle stacking. Which is amazing. Secondly, because my Dad would read the entire thing with voices. There was a voice for each turtle. And it was wonderful. It’s the little things like that which make people like him so special. He’d do anything for us. Another example of this, is when my nephew Moses was sick, all he would want to do was watch the movie “Face/Off”. (You know, the epic Nic Cage/John Travolta film where they trade faces. The moral of that story was not to share your face with your friends.)

Anyways, my Dad watched that movie with Moses a few dozen times and we still laugh about it.

I now leave you with my Dads Facebook status for today. Which made me laugh:

“- special menu at Dennys
– haircuts discounted (think that’s based on volume though)
– people offering a seat on transit (not so much)
We’re still livin’ the dream – enjoy the day all!”

Love you Pa! I get my witty sarcasm from you & people can either thank or hate you for that.

I adore you for it.

Happiest Birthday to you!

Peace, love & sarcasm,

Becky

My Daddy & I on my 4th birthday.

  1. No crying here – (maybe a wee bit-o-dust found it’s way into my eye). I’m glad you didn’t pick yard clean-up to blog about. Thanks Honey- I love you.
